Pronounced: "AWSH-truh SOO-pee-ul"
Height: 6’10”
Age: 30
Race: Eucalyptian

Austra Supial was a kickboxer by trade, and one of the best anywhere. Blessed with unmatched athleticism, as well as impressive size, even for the tall, kangaroo-like Eucalyptians, Austra dominated the women’s kickboxing circuit of that world. Her rapid ascendance through the federation's ranks, combined with her stunning good looks and provocative style of dress, soon made her a superstar. Her penchant for dyeing her hair pink earned her the nickname "Pinky".

As well as things were going for Austra, her promoter felt he could still take her career to another level. He suggested that she take on the men’s circuit. Austra welcomed the challenge and the controversy. Many Eucalyptians said that no woman could take on a skilled male fighter in a fair fight, and that Pinky was only endangering herself. But she proceeded to silence the naysayers by annihilating every male who faced her, eventually scoring a dramatic knockout of the men’s champion, Troy Kerrock, to become the undisputed best fighter in Eucalyptia. Shortly after this, though, she found herself pregnant. Upon hearing the news, the baby’s father, a mid-level fighter named Mel Bounder, skipped town and hasn’t been heard from since.

After giving birth to her son Sydney, Austra came back and successfully defended her title again and again. But each time it was less satisfying. She was set for life financially, she had nothing left to prove in the ring, and the rage that had once driven her had dissipated. She realized that what she really wanted at this point in her life was to devote more time to her young son. So Austra Supial retired from kickboxing at the top of her game. Though her many fans were crushed, there was one in particular who took the news especially hard. Lord Gragon, founder of the realm Arkitha Gragondi, was lovesick for Aussi (despite being married). He loved nothing more than to watch her fight and could not accept her decision to retire. The obsessed Nauvauth concocted an underhanded scheme to force Austra back into the ring...

Notes:

-"Eucalyptian" rhymes with "Egyptian", in case you were wondering how to pronounce that.
-Austra and Sydney are two of my oldest characters. I created them back in 1989 (maybe even 1988) as bosses for a side-scrolling video game starring Harold Mouse that I never made. Austra, who was originally called "Aussi" (I still use that form of her name occasionally), looked much more like a normal kangaroo. She wore boxing gloves and would punch Harold if he got too close. Sydney sat in her pouch, but would regularly jump out and throw a boomerang at Harold. I used to make a lot more cheesy puns when I was young, which explains why there are so many of them connected with these 'roos. Hey! Her name is "Aussi"! Like "Aussie", a person from Australia! The country kangaroos come from! Har-dee-har-har! And her son's name is "Sydney"! That's a city in Australia! Whoa-ho-ho! Even Mel Bounder's name is loosely based on "Melbourne". But their names have been established for so long that I have no desire to change them.
-Okay, so she doesn't have a pouch. She used to have one in her original form, which I described above. I got rid of her pouch when I gave her the more humanoid form she has now. I didn't think I could get it to look good with that body structure. Besides, it would have covered up her great abdominal muscles. I mean, look at those abs! And after childbirth, too!

EDIT: Made a few changes, mainly to the hip and waist area, based on some suggestions I got. Hopefully she looks more curvy in all the right places now.

You are getting better. Very nice character. I'm not sure about the black mini-skirt but everything looks good.

Thanks! Pink hair on women is pretty hot, I think.

Thanks for the encouraging words, and also for faving this! I'm curious, though, as to what your concern is with her mini-skirt. Do you think it's too short? Do the wrinkles in it look weird? Does the shine on it not look right?

I'm not sure the curves and shape on it look quite right. There are some lines on it that almost make it look more like the back than the front. Also, her hips are so small and we can see a tiny bulge at the bottom which almost makes this look more like a man pretending to be a woman. We should not see any kind of line at where her crotch should be The mini skirt should probably flare out like a bell. perhaps we see some lines for her stomach that point in like a "V" to her crotch but that would be all. I'm being very nitpicky here perhaps but something about the lines and shape of it keep distracting me.

Actually, I welcome the nitpicking because it helps me improve. Besides, I can get pretty nitpicky myself, so it's only fair. :) The idea behind Austra's skirt was that it was so tight, you could clearly see the outline of her crotch. But what you just mentioned is exactly what I was afraid of--that the outline of her crotch would be interpreted by viewers as the bulge of man-junk, making her look like a drag queen. I hope I can fix that. Clothing wrinkles and stretches are still something I struggle with. Also, the hips are a part of the anatomy that give me a lot of trouble. I'll experiment with making them larger.

I'm glad I didn't hurt your feelings (it can happen easily). I like the idea of the miniskirt showing her hips and even her lower abdomen but the little "u" line just should not be there. You should have a "V" with the tops starting at the outer part of her hips and disappearring before it makes a point at the bottom. you have kind of two outside bulges on the side of it right now which don't look quite right either.

Larger hips make women look like women. There is a huge degree of variation but a woman's hips will generally curve out to some degree from the waist. Making the waist and hips the same width makes them look masculine.

Whoa.. No brah on this gal eh Tim?
The anatomy looks very accurate here and the all the little details indicates that you must've put a lotta work in it; Her fingernails, the texture on the floor etc. The wrinkles and the lighting on the skirt looks good to. You seem to be adding more backgrounds to your drawings now. To spice up the picture or something I assume.

I believe in Santa Clause. If you do too and aren't scared to admit it then copy and paste this in your signature!

I'm glad you noticed the small details. I get pretty obsessive about those. Though I must admit that the texture on the floor is a standard fill texture from Paint Shop Pro. I just made some adjustments to it to make it look 3-D.

I've definitely made a conscious choice to add backgrounds to more of my pictures. I won't do it to all my pictures, though. Just the ones I think have a chance to get a decent number of views. Hopefully that will make my art more successful.

And no, she's not wearing a bra. :)
