Madelyn Guernsey, founder and CEO of Cowtech, may be the greatest genius there is on the planet Terrafirma. She's on the cutting edge in physics, engineering, astronomy, biotech... there appears to be no science that her brilliant mind can't master. Unfortunately, she doesn't intend to apply these sciences toward the greater good of society. When she was younger, Mad had visions of thousands of worlds beyond her own, populated with intelligent life. She swore these worlds were real. Nobody believed her, and many said she was crazy. These judgments filled Mad with resentment. That resentment grew with each dismissive hand gesture and each snide rebuttal until it blossomed into seething hatred. Now she burns to deliver the most emphatic possible statement of her genius: She will not only prove that these other worlds exist; she will conquer them all, along with Terrafirma, and become the supreme ruler of the universe. No one will dare question her brilliance then.
To progress toward her goal, Mad has built many extremely powerful high-tech devices. Her SkyScanner can see further into space than anything else on Terrafirma and can detect signs of planets that can support life. She's made prototypes for weapons that can deal death with unprecedented efficiency. But her real pride and joy is her brand-new teleportation gate. It's the key to her plan. She can use it to scout out locations for potential bases, to transport weapons and personnel, and to escape when the heat is on.
Also, to increase her chances of survival against certain perceived threats, Mad has physically enhanced herself. She has injected herself full of bovine growth hormones and her own experimental sera, which have increased her size and strength to unnaturally large proportions. They have also had strong side effects--she now experiences frequent and sudden mood shifts. This has made Mad prone to capricious and/or irrational behavior.
Mad knows that the former Cowtech employees who learned of her plan and escaped through her teleporter are a threat to her. It doesn't matter if they're halfway across the universe. Mad still intends to track them down and neutralize them. That is a priority.
Notes:
-It was kinda hard to get Mad's body shape right. I wanted her to look imposing and strong, while still retaining some degree of femininity. I think I found the right balance. -I really like the way her hair turned out. I stumbled onto that coloring technique while working on Mandy Gecko's wig.
Oh, yeah. In fact, this character was actually named "Mad Cow" for a few years before I decided that was just too obvious. I opted to go for a little more subtlety.
