Ryan Rat was the director of information technology at Cowtech, and it was he who uncovered Madelyn Guernsey's plot for universal domination. Not your typical pencil-necked geek, Ryan loves watching pro wrestling and works out like a fiend. When fellow Cowtecher Angelica Bat was killed on the planet now known as Geckoworld, Ryan was the one who took her death the hardest. He'd had feelings of affection for Angelica which he never got to express to her. His fury manifested itself in the unbelievable ferocity with which he fought alongside Tommy Gecko to overthrow the warlord whose henchmen had killed Angie. But even after the warlord was dead, Ryan's bloodlust still wasn't quenched. He places just as much blame for his friend's demise on Madelyn Guernsey and Sadie Mongoose. He has vowed never to forgive either of them and would love to kill them both himself.
Four years after Angelica Bat was slain, Ryan has returned to being a regular guy... most of the time. But he still carries that emotional baggage and still goes nuts about her death sometimes.
Since Tommy was named king of the planet, Ryan has been putting his computer knowledge to use by developing Geckoworld's Internet infrastructure.
Notes:
-I got this picture done a lot quicker by not obsessing about my line art being perfect and not worrying about all the tiny details that either get lost when I shrink the file down to its final size or don't get noticed much anyway. I colored this in roughly an hour and a half. Maybe that will help me do the comic faster...
Thanks! I just like the name Ryan for some reason. And I enjoy the fact that I've ended up with a character who's an ass-kicking IT guy. I almost feel like writing a theme song for him called "Ass-Kicking IT Guy".

Thank you! It's good to know that all the thought I put into my characters' backstories doesn't go unappreciated. I consider it just as important as the art itself, if not more so.
That's one bad ass rat! I hear ya when it comes to detail. Sometimes, I stress out way too much about a drawing looking right to the point I just won't draw.
Well, I'll tell ya, one thing that has helped me get over my excessive perfectionism is taking a closer look at art by other artists who get a lot more views than I do and noticing that their stuff does have minor flaws--but nobody seems to mind. If the subject matter is enjoyable, no one will complain about that spot in the upper left where the pen bled, or about the extraneous specks between the character's feet.
